This one takes the cake!

What is this?

I just completed yet another cake. Note the time: 2:49am. The temporary official name of my next business venture is "Luscious Lovelies by Lisa". Any other suggestions? This was a paid gig so I tried to make it super. I used new flour and the smell in this house is so friggin awesome! The base is vanilla cake with a vanilla buttercream frosting and the appendages are covered in a chocolate buttercream.

Bet you didn't except that to be the final product, eh?
I am damn tired now.

cake op

Last night I made another bday cake for co-worker. Looked and smelled amazing but I used some really old flour which had a strange gummy smell and the cake came out very dense like pound cake with that strange smell but it was fairly tasty. I also made a chocolate buttercream-like frosting for the first time and it came out fairly well. Whadda ya think? It appears that RD couldn't wait to get his lick on that sucka!

3563 w 4th st

The unforgettable address. Just chatted with Huggies and we laffed it up again. This guy was funny I tell ya, funny funny guy. My memory can be spotty but repetition is the way to go! I have to got to use his lines one day!!

We also think his phone number is 867-5309 :)

and the beat goes on

Last night the work crew went out to 'celebrate'(?) the departure of some employees. For some ungodly reason they picked the bar which has the attendance of every reject on the Island. I don't even know why I went but maybe it was because I knew I would get to hang out with this woman

who consistently makes fun of my clothing, and tonight stated that sometimes it looks like I am wearing a "costume", haroumph!!! although she did add that I look "normal" tonight. I don't take her too seriously though since I don't think she has bought clothing in the past ten years or so. Maybe it's also because she looks ten years older, take that!
After spending the evening chatting with an airman, i think it means he is in the airforce, I met up with JW at what apparantly was a meeting for all of the guidos under 30 in the world. It was out of control and really fugging annoying, i mean really Fing gross. JW was very very tipsy and I feeling a bit of the effect also

so we left and I convinced her to come to the diner with me. I even said I would get fries (which I am on hiatus from eating since 7-4-06 until 1-4-06 when I will have my bday fest at McD's) but in her stupor she made a wrong turn and I headed home. All for the best I guess, the diner at 2am is usually not a good idea for anyone.

I think I might be starting to get tired of partying though. Well until next week that is...

We bid you adieu dear Dallas

Today we went for food at Blue Mesa Grill which held no surprises except for some tasty tableside guac which was made by the waiter from Rhode Island or was it Maine???

Keeping inline with my psychic lottery dreams I bought a scratch off when we got gas and I won $4.00!! I think it was because I used a quarter that had Texas on it which I got as change IN Texas!! So I had to buy another ticket and scratch it off in the same spot with the same quarter and I won again, $4.00!! This continued for four more tickets until I hit the motherload, $10.00 on one ticket!!!
I had a feeling I might be pushing my luck and the clerk was starting to get freaked out but I bought one more ticket and lost, ho hum :(
I lost count but I think in the end I wound up being $15 richer off of a $1 investment, that's pretty damn good, even on the East coast!
We made to the airport without rushing and Huggies was happy about that. I managed not to lose any earrings or bracelets but did lose my fave pair of sunglasses, shucks. BUT Huggies and I both said we had a blast and would do it again anytime. On the plane we started talking about our next last minute vacation ideas and giggled over our ridiculousness the past few days.
To make things even more amusing, instead of my mother coming to pick us up at the airport, both parental units came and we sat in the back seat like teenagers coming home from the mall. Good times, good times.

The rest of our decadence in '06 Texas is documented in the albums link for your viewing pleasure.

Those aren't real, are they???

Our next day in Texass brought a not so good meal
at

Then it started to rain so we headed out on the open road to see some historical evidence at
by the time we got there, the rain had stopped and it was fuggin super hot again and we got to take pics with dinosaurs

and see evidence of dinos walking our earth which was super friggin cool. We then went to Fossil Rim but I got a bit freaked out about the animals (which also happened at the bull riding show) and we had to leave but we did get a pic of a wild bison, which wasn't very thrilling but...

At night, we consulted our hotel staff who suggested we go to Addison for the evening and my guidebook recommended this groovy pub which had the cutest bathrooms

and thanks to my well seasoned liver I managed to drink about 7 pints of brew and a red headed slut heh heh. The bar keepers Doug and Lenny were quite accomodating to us foreigners and as the evening wore on, the patrons became more accomodating as well. Except for some christian freak who was okay in the beginning until he started touting jesus and all that crap. Later on I witnessed this, um Huggies, what IS this all about?

They also had a mint jukebox which we didn't have to put money into, bonus! Following the hefeweiss extravaganza I insisted Huggies take me to
where they were out of cheese for my nachos which was disappointing. Again I fell asleep in that squishy bed without washing my face, damn!

I have no idea what the song is for the day, I am super drunk by now.

Gimme my Taste of Dallas

After the two steppin last night, Huggies and I were a bit worn out so we took in a hearty breakfast at Cafe Brazil
and it was damn tasty. We drove around town a bit and also visited the Dallas Farmers Market which had an amazing array of produce, the smell was fruity and yummy.
Finally we hit the Taste of Dallas and I was well, let down. I did get some shrimp ceviche for free though which was spiceeeeee and it was SO fuggin hot out ugh

but we still trooped all the way uptown and rode a trolley and did all the touristy things to do in Dallas which amounted to about three hours of sightseeing hmpf! After the downtown area, we drove around a bit then headed to the pool at our hotel which had a lovely view of an interstate heh heh. Seriously though, the hotel was really nice for so cheap. I had wanted to stay around but Huggies wanted authentic BBQ so we followed the guidebook and some texan advice and headed back to Ft. Worth and hit up Angelo's which was another surreal experience for us New Yorkers. I for one have never eaten in a place like this where the food was served like this

but Huggies said it was the best pork she'd ever eaten. I even tried a bit but had a hard time getting it down. I just can't do the swine thing, sorry folks. My chicken was ok but this whole white bread thing with bbq, I don't get it. We hit some bars in the nice part of town including 8.0 but Huggies felt the draw of the Stockyards and we didn't feel we had gotten the full cowboy experience aside from Billy Bob's so we returned and the mayhem continued. There were lots of "stranglers" present (how did he get into those jeans???)
and we met a nice cowboy who tried very hard to show us his hot tub back at the ranch. This blonde young "lady"

even said she would hang out with us "yankee bitches" and yes that's a quote. I was more interested in what was going on in her ex-bf's pants there! Those are some big socks you got there cowboy! Another night of staying in town until closing time which is an early 2am and we headed back content with our fill of country. I even got to ride in the saddle, well kind of at least:

and meet another real cowboy

and in case your dirty mind is wandering, no we didn't go back to the ranch and see what a texan hot tub looks like!

Where friends meet to eat

Today we woke up and headed out to taste the "best burger in America" at Kincaid's in Fort Worth
and I would testify that this was THE best burger I have ever eaten and I don't even like beef! The old school atmosphere
only added to the charm of this joint. Huggies and I agreed that we would fly half away across this country to eat this
again and the onion rings were fuggin good too!
After the belly buster we headed to this sundance square area of town and what do you know, it was nearly happy hour so we had a drink at Reata which had a groovy modern country feel with much attention to detail. After walking around a bit and consulting my trusty guidebook (of course) I dragged Huggies for beer at the Flying Saucer which unfortunately we don't have many pics of except of course for one of me with a Shiner Bock

While we were sippin on brew, some friendly texans made our acquaintance and drilled that address into our brains forever, 3563 west 4th street!!! Huggies digi was having a spaz attack and we are left only with this impression:
So we are unable to send the said promised postcard. We did have lots of fun though. Ahhh good times, good times. After an extended happy hour or two we headed to (drumroll please) look for authentic cowboys and we had no idea what we were in for when we entered the

We spent the evening (after sneaking in for free) at the largest honky tonk in the world(??) probably. There were lots of men in wranglers, cowboy hats and boots. It was fuggin surreal but a shitload of fun.
This young buck (ignore my stupid ass face here)
got us into the preferred seating area to see Kevin Fowler
whoever the F that is. Apparantly dancing the two step is a big deal here and Huggies and I were dragged onto the dancefloor more than once to attempt this silly dance. I could not handle this country life. After the place closed (at 2am!!) we headed back to Dallas for a slumber in our feather topped beds. I didn't even get to wash my face, ho hum.

Off to Bushland

Last week Huggies and I decided to go see some of our lovely country. Today we departed on this little scary plane

and landed in Dallas, Texass for the Taste of Dallas amongst other foodie things. Due to my inability to make a decision, we missed out on a free flight during our layover that US Air (that horrid airline) was offering if we stayed an extra 3 hours in Philly. Ironically, our flight was delayed 2 hours so it really stuck in my craw! At night, we headed to Greenville Ave. which was disappointing and so were our Italchos

It's hot here and we are lovin it! Check out our massive beds:

We got lost in them, so comfy!

Independence Day

Pouring rain but Huggies and I treaded out to DD's
house and it was alot of fun. I made a lickered up watermelon salad which was so fugging tasty, esp in a glass of ice and more vodka!

There was even some lovin going on, or was there?

Chatty and I were getting on fairly well too:

All in all it was a nice day and Huggies got to drive me home heh heh. The fireworks were nice too but I just don't get what the big deal is.

Wasting taxpayers dollars again today

Took this quiz today while I was "working". cheers.

Freudian Inventory Results
Anal(63%) you appear to be overly self controlled, organized, and possibly subservient to authority, this effectively narrows your exposure to a wider set of options and ideas lowering the odds that you will make the best decisions in life.
Phallic (56%) you appear to have a good balance of sexual awareness and sexual composure.
Genital (56%) you appear to be somewhere between a progressive/openminded and regressive/closeminded outlook on life.
Oral (40%) you appear to have a good balance of independence and interdependence knowing when to accept help and when to do things on your own.
Latency (36%) you appear to be overly practical; don't undervalue abstract learning, abstract learning increases your ability to make good decisions (and predictions) in the real world so it would be 'impractical' to shun it.

My mantra

My email today revealed this little lovely:
Capricorn(Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Learn to give yourself up to the universal flow. If it's really meant to be, none of your efforts can screw this up. On the other hand, if it's not meant to happen, nothing you can do can make it occur.

Couldn't be more true. The coveted food and travel internship was offered to another. I am disappointed.

Last night we:
got to spend time on a swell boat unfortunately it belonged to this:
And the photo doesn't even come close to capturing the real him or his nasty toenails. ICK!!!!!!!

But on the upside, summer weather is here!!!! rock on...
